The Varel Paper and Cardboard Factory (PKV) supplies high-quality raw cardboard made from recycled materials for food, consumer goods, and industrial packaging, as well as for e-commerce. As one of Europe’s largest plants, with a capacity of 970,000 metric tons, we have a clear goal: By 2031, we will reduce ourCO2 emissions by 42% compared to 2021 and achieve climate neutrality by 2045 at the latest. To this end, we are investing in green electricity, modern heat pumps for heat recovery, and our own power plant that generates energy from production waste. Our sustainability report is certified according to recognized standards and is transparent and traceable.
