Shelf-ready packaging

Shelf-ready packaging (SRP), the new term for correct transport and shelf packaging, has been influencing the packaging and in particular the food industry for several years now. The continually increasing cost and rationalisation pressure and the strategy of the trade to employ fewer and fewer personnel in the outlet and to minimise shelf-stocking times, have ultimately led to outer packaging being so designed that it can be used simultaneously both as a transport and as a shelf unit.
